Moiré is a french word meaning wet and shimmering.  It is also the name for an optical effect where repeated intersecting lines create what looks like new lines.  This can be seen in the everyday life with window screens and synthetic and translucent fabric like curtains.
The first part of this work explores the presence of the body and the relationship between image maker and viewer (is the viewer making these images to an extent?) Lines on a dress describe form, but the more information that is added, the more the existing information is skewed.  The body is secondary to what describes it.
The second part of this work further explores the idea of multiples and reproductions.  Prints are submerged and suspended in water, which creates another moiré effect.   What happens to an image when it is printed?   What is the relationship between phenomenae in the symbiotic digital and physical realms?
